In the spirit of diversity and inclusion, the 2021 Kenai 250 will not ask for gender and therefore will not be able to track female or male records separately. 2018 RESULTS
** Trail conditions for the 2018 race were particularly bad. Johnson Pass and parts of Resurrection pass had seriously washed out and deteriorated compared to two weeks earlier. The Bear Lake section of the Iditarod trails has been getting worse every year since the creation of the Kenai 250 in 2013. Lost Lake trail was quite muddy also with lots of snow which made for a long hike-a-bike.
It was pretty clear from the start that this wouldn’t be a record-breaking year but what I do find amazing is that both Pete and Dusty significantly improved their time compared to 2016. These guys keep getting faster and faster!
A special mention goes to Aaron Thrasher, who rode all of Resurrection pass with a broken/loose crankset but still finished in a solid third place with an amazing time. So many of us quit when suffering lesser mechanicals.
